President visits Guruvayur temple
Guruvayur: President of India Ramnath Kovind offered prayers at Guruvayur temple and Mammiyur temple on Tuesday. In Kerala’s traditional attire, he entered Guruvayur temple around 1.15 pm after the ‘Ucha Pooja’ (afternoon rites).
His wife Savitha Kovind also accompanied him. Governor P Sadasivam, his wife Saraswathi and minister VS Sunil Kumar accompanied the president to the temple.
He greeted all devotees at the temple.
The president had a hassle-free visit to the temple as only few devotees were in the temple due to national motor strike. Usually, VIPs to Guruvayur temple will be taken in car from Sreevalsam guest house escorted by police vehicles. But, the president was lucky to take a walk to the Sri Krishna temple without much security issues.
After seeking blessings from the deity of Guruvayur temple, the president and his team visited Mammiyur temple.
Guruvayur Devaswom chairman KB Mohandas, administration committee members, Thrissur district collector TV Anupama and Devaswom administrator SV Sisir received the president and wife at Sreevalsam guest house.
