Kannur: Janadhipathya Rashtriya Party state treasurer Praseetha Azhikode changed her statement given in connection with her allegations against BJP state president K Surendran and CK Janu in the election bribery case. Praseetha told the Crime Branch that she had seen Surendran handing over money to CK Janu in a hotel room. She also said that the amount was found covered in a towel.
“Surendran arrived at the hotel to meet Janu. By this time, the members of the party, including me, came out of the room. When Surendran left, we saw the money, covered in the hand towel of Janu. Later, she put the money in her bag,” said Praseetha.
At the early phase of the investigation, Praseetha had not claimed that she saw Surendran giving money to Janu, which affected the probe against the BJP leader.
The details collected from the mobile phones of K Surendran, CK Janu, Vineetha (assistant of Janu) and Prasanth Malavayal emerged as crucial evidence in the case. Praseetha alleged mystery in the case as all these phones got impaired at once.
