Shoranur: Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Tuesday registered a case after posters thanking Congress leader and Palakkad MP VK Sreekandan pasted on Vande Bharat Express train triggered a row.
According to reports, the posters were pasted when the state’s first Vande Bharat Express train flagged off from Thiruvananthapuram and reached Shoranur station. The posters were pasted on the wet glass pane of the train which received rains en route.
It is learnt that Railway Police removed many posters at the railway station itself. Over the incident, BJP-affiliated Yuva Morcha complained and RPF registered a case.
The photos of the train with posters have been widely circulating on social media. Many slammed Congress workers and loyalists for the act.

MP and Congress workers had gathered at the station for receiving the train. However, reacting to the development, MP said that he or his party workers have no involvement in the poster pasting. He termed the act as a BJP ploy to create a bad mouth against him.
Earlier, MP had warned that if a stop at Shoranur is not announced before the inauguration of the train, then Congress will wave a red flag at the train. The Congress party also planned to organise a massive protest if the Railways' decision is not favourable. Coincidentally, the stop for Vande Bharat Express was announced only after that.
