Kuttipuram: All postal ballots should reach the returning officers before 8 am on the counting day, instructed the state election commission.

All the postal ballots received by returning officers and assistant returning officers should be submitted at the counting centres before 8 am on counting day. EC also instructed the returning officers to safely store the postal ballots each day until the day of counting.

The distribution of postal ballots started on Wednesday.

The voters can collect the application form for the postal ballot from the office of the returning officer and website of the State Election Commission.

Three separate applications should be submitted to get the postal ballot for voting in grama panchayat, block panchayat and district panchayat election.

The voter will be allowed to submit three applications in a single envelope.

After casting the vote, the voter should sign under the self-declaration and submit to the returning officer by post or person. There is no need to paste a stamp on the cover while sending via post.
