Kochi: NIA has taken Kollam native Sadik (42), who was arrested in relation with the Popular Front case, into custody.

NIA is planning to further investigate the statements that Sadik was involved in the conspiracy to target political opponents. The agency found in its primary investigation that Sadik was assigned to collect the details of leaders of other communities.

Examination of the passbooks, electronic and digital devices that the NIA found from Sadik’s house during a search is underway. The agency is planning to complete this soon and then question Sadik with proper evidence.

According to a report, the NIA had received information on organisational activities in Kerala during a search conducted in Rajasthan.

The NIA conducted interrogations based on this and the agency received details on people collecting information for the Popular Front.
