Thiruvananthapuram: Reacting to the allegations raised by BJP state president K Surendran, minister for ports Ahamed Devarkovil said that the comments of the BJP leader was a poor attempt to show his presence in the state.

Surendran had alleged that Devarkovil and his party Indian National League had connections to the Rehab Foundation, which was banned by the union home ministry on Wednesday.

It is laughable rubbishness. INL and LDF have always stood against all sorts of religious fundamentalism, the minister said in a statement released on Facebook.

MHA had termed Popular Front of India and some affiliated organisations, including Rehab Foundation, 'unlawful' under the UAPA on Wednesday.
