Pon Radhakrishnan, a substandard minister: EP Jayarajan
Kannur: Industries minister EP Jayarajan on Saturday said that union minister Pon Radhakrishnan is a substandard minister. Responding to the questions regarding controversies relating to the brawl between SP Yathish Chandra and union minister, Jayarajan alleged that the minister’s behaviour was not right for a person holding such post and has proved that he doesn’t deserve ministership.
“Any union minister can come to Sabarimala at any time. We are not against it. But peace should prevail. They shouldn’t initiate or support violence at Sabarimala. No union minister should work for inciting conflicts. Kerala is god’s own country,” he said.
Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan had arrived at Nilakkal base camp to offer prayers and assess the facilities on Wednesday morning. The police didn’t allow minister’s pilot vehicles to Pampa. This had led to a friction between SP and minister. Following this minister boarded KSRTC bus for his journey towards Pampa.
While returning, minister’s pilot vehicle was blocked by police leading to protest from BJP. But police are of the explanation that the vehicle was blocked for checking and was part of their duty.
Alleging misbehaviour towards minister, BJP had staged protests in Kerala and a hartal was conducted in Kanyakumari.
