Poll debacle: Oommen Chandy takes responsibility; Chennithala ready to accept high command decision
Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress leadership has taken the responsibility for the debacle in the assembly elections. Addressing KPCC political affairs committee, Oommen Chandy openly declared that he is the first one to be responsible for the poll debacle as he is the election committee chairman.
Meanwhile, KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran reacted emotionally to the poll debacle. He alleged some are trying to put the entire blame on him. He also criticised that all members of the party are responsible for the defeat.
“Being the chairman of the election committee, I take the responsibility of the poll debacle. There is no need to blame each other. We should move forward together,” said Oommen Chandy.
Meanwhile, Ramesh Chennithala stated that he will accept the High Command’s decision over the poll debacle. He also appealed to the members to refrain from blaming each other and making themselves a joke to others. He further opined that the RSS will try to influence members of Congress and that all should be vigilant.
Most of the members at the meeting opined that everyone is responsible for the poll debacle and they should stand together to protect the party.
