Police use water cannon against protesters as march turns violent in Kozhikode
Kozhikode: Violence erupted in the protest march against the Citizenship Amendment Act led by Congress here in the city on Saturday. Police used water cannon against the protesters.
Some protesters came out of the Kozhikode head post office after agitation and tried to erect their flags on top of the water cannon. Police had to intervene to remove the protesters from the vehicle.
This resulted in scuffle between the protesters and police. Following this, police used water cannon against the protesters twice. Following this, the protesters staged a sitting protest against the police action. Later they were arrested and removed from the spot.
