Police turn saviours for child of Covid infected parents in Kottayam

Mannar: Police came to the rescue of an infant of a couple who were infected with Covid-19. The incident happened on Monday around 8 pm. The parents, who were helpless and ailing from Covid, was unable to take their child to the hospital as no vehicle stopped. But later the patrolling officers picked them up from the road near Store junction.

The child was suffering from the breathing trouble and the parents were unable to seek the help of the passersby. The patrolling officers from Mannar Police Station, on receiving the information, headed to help the family.

SI John Thomas, Civil Police Officers Sidhique Ul- Akbar and Jagdeesh took the family to a private hospital in Parumala. Later, the police officers entered self-quarantine as per the Covid protocol.
