Kochi: The monitoring committee appointed by the High Court has criticized the police for taking women to the Sabarimala temple.
The committee, in a report, observed that arrangements made to take both Bindu and Kanakadurga to Sabarimala were unauthorized. The panel also stated that the two women were treated as VIPs and entered the Sannidhanam through the staff gate.
The panel report stated police made special arrangements for the two women. They were taken to the hill shrine through a route used only by VIPs and staff. This route is not used by pilgrims.
The panel stated that the two women were taken to the front of the sreekovil through this special route.
