Youth found dead on track in Kozhikode was murdered, says police; arrests TN native

Koyilandy: Police said that the death of an unidentified youth on the railway track between Koyilandy and Vadakara was murder. According to police, a co-passenger shoved the 30-year-old man from the train following a verbal spat.

The incident happened on Sunday night. Police found that a Tamil Nadu native, Sonamuthu, pushed the youth from Mangaluru Central - Thiruvananthapuram Central Daily Malabar Express following an altercation.

Further, police also recovered video footage to substantiate their claim. The video shows the youth and Sonamuthu standing near the train's door. A passenger had shot the video minutes before the youth was pushed out of the train.

Later, the police arrested Sonamuthu from Kozhikode Railway Station. It is unclear whether the accused had any connections with the deceased.

The body of the youth was found by locals on a railway track around 11:30 pm on Sunday. His life cannot be saved despite police and fire force officials rushing him to Taluk hospital.
