Police report does not mention if Sriram Venkitaraman was drunk or not, says Minister in House
Thiruvananthapuram: Responding on the death of journalist K M Basheer in a drunk driving accident involving a car driven by IAS officer Sriram Venkitaraman, Minister A K Saseendran said in the Assembly that police report states that the cause of death was carelessness of the IAS officer driving the vehicle. The minister also informed the House that the licences of Sriram Venkitaraman and his friend Wafa Firoz were cancelled following the accident. The reply by the minister in the House only shows that police had attempted to save Sriram Venkitaraman from the case.
