Police refuse to provide security; Trupti Desai returns

Kochi: Social activist Trupti Desai and team who arrived here to enter the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple, returned to Pune after police made it clear that no security will be provided for darshan.

Talking to media Trupti said that she will file a contempt of court petition as police refused to provide protection.

“Even when there is no stay on entry of women of all ages to the temple, we were blocked. We reached commissioner office seeking police protection. However, police were of the stance that the issue is under consideration of the court. They refused to provide protection,” she further said.

Trupti was also of the opinion that those protesting against her were not real devotees and clarified that she was not a sympathizer of any party.
