From video of Irshad sent to his family by the abductors
Kozhikode: Police arrested a man in connection with the abduction of a youth in Perambra following a discord over smuggled gold. Peruvannamuzhi police arrested Kuthuparamba native Marseed who hails from Panthirikkara. However, police is yet to locate Irshad who is being held hostage for the past three weeks allegedly to prevent the smuggled gold from Dubai to be handed over to the gang.
Police have intensified investigation to locate Irshad and have divided into three teams. Several suspected persons were interrogated and later taken into custody. Marseed was also taken into custody in a similar way and quizzed on Sunday by the investigation team. His arrest was recorded on Monday morning.
Police informed that the kidnappers had sent a video to Irshad’s family where he could be seen. Marseed will be produced in court on Monday.
