Kochi: Police have taken a man into custody for allegedly murdering his wife one and a half years ago. Sajeevan, a native of Edavanakkad, is accused of killing his wife and burying her on the property of a rented house.

Family of the victim Ramya (32) on August 17, 2021 had given an advertisement in the newspaper that she was missing.

When the locals asked Sajeevan about Ramya, he told them that she was abroad for work.

Police had been following Sajeevan for the past few days. The second time he was interrogated, he confessed to the crime, police said.

The probe into the case was reopened following the decision to relook at missing cases after the horrifying human sacrifice case was recovered. The Elanthoor murders came to light while a missing case of one of the victims was being investigated.
