Police officers who escort VVIPs in trains need to buy tickets


The cops will be fined if they fail to take tickets. If they do not pay the fine, other procedures will be followed.

Kollam: The railway has decided to fine the police officers who travel by train without ticket. The police officers who escort VVIPs during train journey will have to buy tickets.

The cops will be fined if they fail to take tickets. If they did not pay the fine, other procedures will be followed. The action is taken after the railway found out that police officers keep travelling in reserved coaches and AC coaches wearing their uniform.

The railway has also noted that the policemen in uniform travelling in reserved coaches cause disturbance to other passengers. The railway will appoint a special squad to find the police officers who travel in train without tickets.
