Police nab youth who stole Japanese Whiskey from TVM BEVCO outlet; unearth theft worth Rs 30,000

Thiruvananthapuram: Police have arrested a youngster in connection with the theft of Japanese Whiskey from The Kerala State Beverages Corporation (KSBC or BEVCO) outlet in Power House Road here.

The accused has been identified as Manikantan, a native of Valiyasala. He had been engaged in street vending in the city.

The person was nabbed after the probe based on the CCTV visuals of the outlet. The police seized the bottle of whiskey from him. The whiskey costs around Rs 8,200.

During quizzing, police unearthed theft worth Rs 30,000 done by him, said reports. According to the statement given to police by the accused, he used to steal liquor bottles from the outlet.
