Chembalod Mohanan
Palakkad: Police arrested a habitual thief who frequently steals after stripping himself in Palakkad town. The accused Chembalod Mohanan has been on the run after being involved in several theft cases.
The accused has been nabbed by a special team of Palakkad Town North and South police formed to arrest the “naked thief”, who became a constant headache for the people in Palakkad town. Police informed that Mohanan usually robbed valuables kept in cars and houses after breaking the windows. He often stole clothes of women also. He used to smear oil all over his body to easily escape from the grip if nabbed.
Police obtained the CCTV visuals of Mohanan who reached Manapullikavu and Chandranagar regions for stealing at night. Following this, a special investigation team was formed under ASP Shahul Hameed.
Mohanan had served jail terms several times for various thefts, said police.
