Aroor: Police nabbed a man who entered Sree Kumaravilasam Temple at Puthanangadi in Aroor and stole gold items, including sacred ornaments, in the wee hours of Friday. The arrested individual was identified as Rajesh, an Ambalapuzha native.
Earlier, the CCTV visuals of the crime went viral. The visuals show the masked thief offering respects before he entered the sanctum sanctorum and stole gold ornaments.
The theft happened around 1 am. However, the incident came to light when temple office-bearers reached the temple in the morning. The doors of the sanctum sanctorum were seen open, and they realised that a theft had happened.
