Police nab ‘absconding’ PFI state secretary from Karunagappally

Kollam: Kerala Police nabbed Popular Front of India state secretary Abdul Sathar from PFI's Karunya Trust office in Karunagappally on Wednesday.

Abdul Sathar allegedly went into hiding after calling for a state-wide hartal on September 23 against the nationwide raid and arrests of PFI leaders by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). On Wednesday, he was taken into custody by the state police hours after the central government released the notification on banning PFI in India.

Abdul Sathar spoke to the media about the ban. Following this, a police team led by Karunagappally ASP arrived at the office and took him into custody. He is the third accused in a case filed by NIA.

Police are likely to seal off the Karunya trust office.
