Police intelligence report revealed Monson's suspicious activities in 2020 itself
Thiruvananthapuram: A police intelligence report in 2020 itself put spotlight on the frauds by Monson Mavungal, said reports.
The special report was prepared after the former DGP Loknath Behera and former ADGP Manoj Abraham visited Monson’s house. After this, Manoj Abraham assigned the special branch to conduct an undercover investigation. The report on this has come out now.
The report raises the alarm on Monson's dealings and also circled out that he kept close association with many high-ranking officials. Since his dealings are largely associated with artefacts, it was unsure whether Monson held a proper license for its sale and transfer, the intelligence report said. The report also points out that he has financial dealings abroad as well.
Monson's father was a government official and after his death, Monson’s brother got a job in government service. According to the report, Monsoon only had primary education and was married to a woman who was a nun.
On the basis of this report, the state police chief has also written a letter to the enforcement asking for an inquiry. But it is not clear whether the state police or Enforcement Directorate has conducted any investigation into the matter.
