Attack by pet dogs:MK Muneer demands to withdraw case against 20 people in Kozhikode

Muneer asked the police whether the woman should be left to die without trying to rescue her from the dangerous dogs.

Kozhikode: Muslim League leader MK Muneer has raised his voice in the incident in which police filed a case against 20 local people who saved a woman from the attack of pet dogs in Thamarassery here. Muneer asked the police whether the people should have let the woman die without rescuing her from the dangerous dogs.

The woman who was waiting for her child from Madrasa was attacked by two pet dogs at Thamarassery on Sunday. The locals rushed to the spot and rescued her from the dogs. However, the police had registered a non-bailable case against 20 people over a complaint filed by the owner of the dogs.
Though the police took the owner of the dogs into custody, he was released on bail.

MK Muneer, who intervened in the matter, contacted the police and asked to withdraw the case against the people. Muneer also demanded that a strong case should be registered against the dog's owner. Muneer informed that the DYSP had assured him that action would be taken as soon as possible.
