Kochi: Kochi City Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju informed that the police collected crucial evidence against actor-producer Vijay Babu in the sexual assault case. He added that the police have prima facie realized how he exploited the actress and is collecting evidence on the matter.

Police have collected samples from a luxury hotel in Kadavantara and flats where the director allegedly raped the actress. The CCTV footage was also collected from these places for examination.

"Prima facie, the probe team confirmed that the complainant was sexually assaulted. Vijay Babu was controlling the victim," Nagaraju said.

A case was registered against him on April 22 based on the complaint of the young actress. However, another case was registered against him after he disclosed the victim's name through a social media platform. A look-out notice was issued after it came to light that the actor is abroad. The preliminary inquiry procedures and evidence collection are completed already.

City Police Commissioner added that the accused will be taken into custody once he returns from abroad. Further action will be taken if he refuses to return, including requesting the help of Interpol.
