Leopard
Agali: A leopard was spotted in the residential area of Moolakada in Sholayur on Wednesday night. The leopard jumped in front of the police vehicle when the team was going to Sholayur station from Kottathara. Police recorded the visuals of the leopard crossing the road on a mobile phone.
The Sholayur Forest Department has confirmed the presence of two leopards at Moolakada and one each at Thoova and Moolaganga areas. So far, the forest department has not received any complaints of leopards killing their domestic animals.
Sholayur Deputy Ranger VA Satheesh said that there is an increase in the number of wild dogs here and about 60 goats and six cows have gone missing from here.
