Thiruvananthapuram: Police on Thursday arrested a cop for allegedly blackmailing a woman with her nude video and raping her for seven years.The accused has been identified as Sabu Panicker (48), Vigilance Grade SCPO and a native of Kachani near Aruvikkara here.
According to the complaint, he had been sexually assaulting a 40-year-old woman who parted from her husband.
The person allegedly blackmailed the woman with a claim that he possess her nude video and whenever she turned against his advances, he threatened her that he will leak the visuals.
Apart from that, the person reportedly took her to other districts, where she was raped in hotels.
Later, the person leaked the video and following which the woman lodged the complaint with the police. He has been booked under charges including sexual assault, IT Act violations. Two others have been booked for circulating the video.
