Changanassery: The Nair Service Society (NSS) has severely criticised the widespread arrests in connection with the Sabarimala women entry protests. The NSS alleged in a press release that the police action against the devotees is similar to the situation during the Emergency.
The state government’s stand is unethical and anti-democratic. NSS alleged that the government is not willing to file review petition and also preventing the Devaswom Board from filing it. NSS general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair said in the press release that NSS will respond legally and peacefully on the issue.
The chief minister and other ministers offended the Pandalam palace and tantris. A democratic government should not have taken such a stand. This has hurt the sentiments of the devotees. NSS also made it clear that they will protest by lighting lamps at all temples and Karayogams on the Flag Day which falls on October 31.
