Kozhikode: The Chevayur Police on Saturday arrested a young woman for allegedly sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl in Kozhikode. The accused has been identified as Jesna (22), a native of Elathur.
She has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The case was registered based on a complaint filed by the minor on December 29, 2022.
Jesna, who had been abroad, arrived back home two days ago. Following this, the police arrested and produced her before the court. She has been remanded for 14 days.
The accused was arrested by a team led by sub-inspector Vinayan, comprising CPOs Sreeraj and Manju, among others.
