POCSO case victim found dead inside forest in Kollam

Kollam: A 16-year-old girl, who was a victim of two sexual assault cases, was found hanging in a forest near her relative’s house. The body of the Kulathupuzha native was spotted on Tuesday at around 3 pm.

A 24-year-old youth of Pooyappally in Kollam had abducted her a week ago and the police later found them based on the complaint lodged by the girl’s parents. The accused has been remanded on POCSO charges.

Following the incident, the girl was shifted to her relative’s house and she went missing by Tuesday noon. She was found dead during a search conducted in a nearby forest by the family and locals. Though she was rushed to the Government Hospital in Kulathupuzha, her life could not be saved. Her body was later shifted to Government Medical College in Parippally for an .
