Kattappana: The Kattappana Fast Track POCSO Court on Wednesday sentenced a man to five years rigorous imprisonment (RI) and imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 in connection with a sexual assault case.
The accused is Manoj (31), a native of Pampadumpara. He has been sentenced to five years RI, Rs 10,000 fine as per the POCSO Act and another two years RI and a fine of Rs 5,000 as per IPC sections.
The sentence was pronounced by Kattappana Fastrack POCSO Court judge Philip Thomas. The incident pertaining to the case took place in 2022.
As per the case, the accused had attempted to attack an eight-year-old girl, while she was walking on the road.
