Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala has won three awards for the successful implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) project for 2021. The state, which came first in the category, shared the award with Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
Of the three awards, two were given in a special category, while the third one was for the best convergence model of PMAY (Urban) with livelihood. Among the municipalities, Mattannur municipality in Kannur bagged third place.
“The awards are a recognition for the work done by the state”, said MB Rajesh, minister for local self-governments.
The PMAY-U Awards 2021-150 Days Challenge seek to recognize outstanding models at the state levels in the implementation of the project.
