Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala alleged that the state government and the CPM are intentionally trying to sabotage the investigation into gold smuggling case and drug deals. He stated in a press conference here that the government and the CPM have made a well-planned scheme for this.

Chennithala alleged that CPM is making an undemocratic move to sabotage the investigation when they found that chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan would be trapped in the gold smuggling case. They even misused the Kerala Assembly to stop the investigation into the corruption case, he added.

The chief minister was saying the probe was in the right direction, but later changed his opinion. He turned against the probe agencies after he realised that his involvement in the case would come to light. The LDF protest against corruption is only an attempt to cheat the public, he said.

Both Sivasankar and Swapna Suresh are trying their best to save the chief minister. Why do the key accused in the case try to help the chief minister? Chennithala asked.
