Plaint filed in HC against restriction for using mobile phones in ladies’ hostels
Kochi: A college student approached the high court questioning the rule in ladies’ hostels that restrict use of mobile phone from 6 in the evening to 10 at night.
The petition was filed by Faheema Shirin, an undergraduate student of Chelannur Sree Narayana Guru College in Kozhikode. The court sought explanation from the opposing parties.

The restriction on phone is implemented only in ladies’ hostels and this is a discrimination against women, it is pointed out in the petition.
