Kozhikode: More action will be taken against National Vice-President of Muslim Youth League Mueen Ali Shihab Thangal over his controversial remarks against Muslim League leader PK Kunhalikutty, only after discussing with Panakkad family, said Muslim League State General Secretary PMA Salam.

In a press conference held here on Monday, PMA Salam termed Mueen Ali’s remarks against PK Kunhalikutty were inappropriate. “More action against Mueen Ali will be taken only after proper discussion with Panakkad family. He was entrusted with the duty to solve the issues in Chandrika daily. He was not supposed to interfere in any other thing without discussing in the party,” he said.

It was after discussing with the party, Hyderali Thangal appointed Mueen Ali to resolve the issue in Chandrika. “However, he couldn’t solve it. There is no black money in the daily and no decision has been taken to terminate finance director over this. The crisis in Chandrika is due to Covid-19 pandemic and we have been trying to solve it,” added Salam.

He also said that all workers of Muslim League are aware of the health issues of Panakkad Thangal. “No one is required to provoke us by citing his health issues. It was CPM, not Muslim League, that said action against Mueen Ali will lead to an earth quake. Muslim League will take necessary action in this regard,” said Salam.
