PK Firoz reveals illegal appointments in KIRTADS, slams Minister AK Balan
Kozhikode: Youth League State general secretary P K Firoz has come out with a shocking revelation against another minister on Monday. Raising sharp criticism against minister AK Balan, he revealed that the minister has confirmed the appointment of four non-qualified employees in Kerala Institute for Research, Training and Development Studies of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (KIRTADS) under the department of Scheduled Caste and Tribes.
He alleged that four employees including AK Balan’s assistant private secretary were illegally confirmed in their post. Writer Indu V Menon who is a temporary employee in KIRTADS was confirmed by violating the rules, he alleged.
A N Mani Bhooshan, Mini PV and Sajith Kumar SV are the other contract employees who were confirmed in their post.
Firoz alleged that the four people got permanent job by ignoring the protests from other departments and violating the service rule 39.
“Mani Bhooshan got permanent post in the department following his appointment as AK Balan’s private secretary. Others were appointed to hide this illegal appointment. Candidates with MPhil and PhD are qualified for these posts. But the minister illegally appointed the employees who only hold post graduation,” alleged Firoz.
The service rule which recommends government jobs to family members of victims killed in accidents or disaster was used to make the illegal appointments. Nipah virus victim nurse Lini’s husband Sajeesh, Akhila wife of Sreejith who was killed in police custody and Safreena, wife of Noushad, who died during a rescue operation in manhole got government jobs under this rule.
Firoz alleged that the finance department, law department and administrative reforms department objected to the appointments.
