Idukki: Kerala Congress (M) working chairman P. J. Joseph has come up with a consensus move to resolve the issues within the party. He said that he has no disagreement in making veteran leader C. F. Thomas the chairman of the party. In that case, Jose K. Mani will be the deputy chairman and P. J. Joseph can be the legislative party leader.
Though he had put forward the same formula after the death of K. M. Mani, Jose K. Mani faction expressed disagreement. When the discussions yielded no results, Joseph faction came up with the same formula for making consensus. P. J. Joseph is determined that the state committee meeting will not be convened if they do not reach a consensus.
However, Jose K. Mani is less likely to accept the suggestion. Jose K. Mani is fully aware of the fact that though C. F. Thomas was loyal to K. M. Mani, he does not have the same loyalty to Jose K. Mani. The chairmanship is likely to be passed from C. F. Thomas to P. J. Joseph. Jose K. Mani faction perceive this as a major political setback.
