Kozhikode: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has welcomed Kerala Congress (M)’s decision to join LDF. By breaking a 38- year-old alliance, they have proved that LDF is right, the CM said. He also added that the future course of action will be determined after the LDF committee meeting.
PC George MLA said that Jose K Mani’s decision to join LDF cannot be blamed as it is the ideal destination for him after being ousted from UDF. There is no point in denying that, he said.
Kerala Congress (M) was formed as a result of Congress party’s lack of empathy for the farmers. After the death of KM George, the founder of the party, KM Mani and PJ Joseph became the party leaders. They wanted to become ministers and rule. With that intent, they shifted alliances and later joined UDF.
Those who have the culture of Kerala Congress (M) in them will not be able to join hands with Congress party. In that sense, nobody can say that Jose K Mani’s decision is wrong, he added.
PC George also pointed out that all the trusted associates of KM Mani have stood by Jose K Mani and that certain people who are not fond of his immature decisions are remaining passive. It is not clear where they will go, he added.
LDF convener A Vijayaraghavan stated that Kerala Congress (M)’s decision to join LDF will create positive changes in Kerala politics. LDF committee meeting will be held to discuss about Jose K Mani’s decision, he said.
Jose K Mani pointed out valid political issues during his press conference. He did not put forward any conditions while announcing his discussion. Hence, the question regarding the Pala seat is not relevant, Vijayaraghavan added.
