Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who turned 78 on Wednesday, will mark his birthday with modest celebrations. He will enjoy a sweet treat at home.

The chief minister's day will commence with his attendance at the cabinet meeting and a review of significant projects.

Born on May 24, 1945 in Pinarayi, Kannur, Vijayan has served as chief minister of Kerala since May 2016.

The second Pinarayi ministry celebrated its second anniversary on May 20.
