Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala said that the Kerala government decided to suspend M. Sivasankar as it did not have any other option.
“On learning that the investigation is leading to him, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is trying to escape by suspending Sivasankar. But it will not succeed,” the Congress leader said and added that the CM should be brought under the investigation.
Sivasankar was the strongest in the CM’s office. As principal secretary, he used to do everything for the Chief Minister and did everything with the knowledge of the CM. Hence, the CM must bear the moral responsibility of everything done by his principal secretary, Ramesh Chennithala said.
He added that there is evidence to prove the CM’s former IT fellow Arun Balachandran’s involvement in the case.
Arun Balachandran had booked the flat in which the gold smugglers used to conspire, following the direction of Sivasankar. It proves that the CM’s office has become a hub of smugglers, Ramesh Chennithala said.
The CM who let his office become a hub of smugglers must resign, demanded Ramesh Chennithala.
