Pinarayi Vijayan addressing a gathering
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan sharply criticized the Opposition for boycotting the announcement ceremony of Life Mission Scheme here on Saturday.
The CM was addressing a gathering after announcing the completion of two lakh houses built under the scheme at Putharikandam ground here.
“Opposition Ramesh Chennithala and Shashi Tharoor MP should have joined us for this function here today. However, their political decision was to boycott the function. What are they actually boycotting? Should they display such cruelty to the poor beneficiaries?” Asked Pinarayi Vijayan.
“The government was able to make the Life Mission program a great success because everyone in the state joined hands. If we cannot stay together for such initiatives, what is the point of calling ourselves public workers?” asked the CM.
“The Opposition leader asked hadn’t LDF completed the remaining houses of the program which was initiated by the UDF. There is truth in the argument. The project was implemented in three stages from 2017. But the LDF focused on the number of houses completed rather than concentrating on who was in power,” the CM explained.
