Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan hit out against central investigation agencies. He said that the guidelines that have to be followed by central agencies are being violated in state. He started his press conference by saying that certain things have to be said when the basic philosophies of the Indian constitution and its integrity are violated.

Pinarayi Vijayan said that he does not want to specify a single organisation or an officer. It was the state government that demanded a comprehensive investigation into the gold smuggling case through a letter to the central government. The state government was under the impression that the investigation would be held in a fair manner.

Infact, the investigation was held really well in the first phase. However, certain interventions made by the agencies later, has left the state suspecting the manner in which the investigation progresses. The probe has to be done by an agency independently, however, things are moving in a different direction now, he added.

People outside the agency are declaring how the investigation would proceed in the coming days, through media. The agencies move in accordance with the declarations made by these people. The statements given by witnesses and accused are also leaked to the media selectively, he added.
