Kozhikode: Taking a dig at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Congress leader K Muraleedharan said here on Monday that the minister is like a mere kitten in front of Primer Minister Narendra Modi and alleged that the BJP is protecting the government in the state.
Speaking to mediapersons, Muraleedharan said, “The chief minister appeared like a roaring tiger at the martyrs' day event in Onchiyam. However, he was like a kitten in front of Modi.”
In reference to Vijayan’s comment that the Centre was discriminating against the state, Muraleedharan said the same should have been told in the prime minister’s presence.
“While Modi was present, the chief minister said that they both could create miracles together. He did not speak anything about Kerala’s constant demand for AIIMS as well,” he added.
“At Onchiyam, the chief minister said that the opposition and the BJP have the same voice. However, we (the opposition) criticise the government. The BJP is protecting the (Kerala) government. ED raids were carried out at the offices and residences of Congress chief ministers. Not even Kejriwal was spared. But, what is the situation of the gold smuggling case probed by the ED in Kerala,” asked Muraleedharan.
Further, the leader added that the UDF is being slammed to hide the nexus between the BJP and CPM.
