Thiruvananthapuram: Former chief minister Oommen Chandy stated that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has lost his moral right to continue in power after his former principal secretary was found guilty by the central investigation agency.

"Political connections behind the gold smuggling, Havala and Life Mission cases will come out soon. With that, the destruction of the Kerala government will be complete," the senior Congress leader said in an official statement.

The government gave protection to the Havala transaction which could sabotage the country’s economy. Commission was received for constructing houses for poor people and for fixing the homes of the flood victims. The terrorist links in these cases are under investigation, he said.

Officers have been listed as accused in cases during the tenure of all governments and actions have been taken against them as a result. However, this is the first time that the Chief Minister's principal secretary, who had complete control of the CM’s office, has been accused of such a severe crime, he stated.
