Thiruvananthapuram: The Pinarayi Vijayan government 2.0 is expected to have many new faces and youngsters. Along with this, different departments are likely to be switched between allies. The leaders are planning to give new departments to the allies instead of the usual ones. The arrival of Kerala Congress (M) also is a reason for this.
Normally, key departments like finance and home department are handled by the CPM. Revenue department is given to the second largest ally CPI. None of these are likely to change. However, other department should be switched, as per CPM leader's opinion. However, this will not be a move to dominate the allies.
Kerala Congress that recently joined the LDF is likely to get two minister posts. If the single MLA parties are not considered for minister posts, then Kadannappally Ramachandran's Department of Ports and Museum will be vacant.
When Kerala Congress Joseph faction was with the LDF, they were given education and PWD. Allegations arose that only allies are handling the education department. After Joseph faction left LDF, VS government changed this system and CPM took over education department.
