Pillion rider dies by falling from scooter as she hits loose overhead cable wire

Kayamkulam: A woman, who was pillion riding with her husband, died after she fell from the scooter as her neck got stuck on a cable wire that was lying low across the road. The deceased is Karunagappally native Usha (56).

The accident occurred at around 10 pm on Monday. Usha and her husband Vijayan were returning from a relative’s house in Eruva.

According to eyewitnesses, Vijayan moved his head when he saw the cable, but it hit Usha in the neck. She was immediately taken to Kayamkulam Taluk hospital, but could not be saved. Her body has been kept at the Kayamkulam government hospital mortuary.
