Pilgrims want virtual queue system in Sabarimala to be scrapped
Thiruvananthapuram: The virtual queue system for pilgrims in Sabarimala has raised many eyebrows. Many are demanding to discard the existing system which makes online booking mandatory for pilgrims.
According to Devasom Employees Front which is a body of Travancore Devasom employees, the restrictions by the government will only keep the pilgrims at bay. “Presently, individuals who turn negative for Covid-19 in RT-PCR and those who are fully vaccinated are allowed to enter. In this situation, the virtual queue system is unwanted,” said G Biju president of Devasom Employees Front. He added that even half of the individuals booking through the virtual queue are not turning up, and this fact cannot be neglected.
Similarly, Travancore Devasom National Prachar Sabha has also pinpointed that as Covid-19 protocols are in place, the virtual queue system should be scrapped.
