Sabarimala revenue exceeds Rs 20 crores

Sabarimala: Within two weeks of the Sabarimala pilgrimage season under Covid-induced restrictions, the temple revenue exceeded Rs 20 crores. The income has been generated through sale of ‘appam’, ‘aravana’ and ‘mahakanikka’, the offerings made to the temple.

Rs 30,000 was obtained through ‘e-kanikka’ service of Devaswom board.

Though restrictions due to pandemic have been imposed at Sabarimala, the rush of devotees and virtual queue booking increased day after day. 33,000 devotees have booked their slots for darshan on Friday and it was the highest number till date.

28,743 pilgrims booked for Sabarimala darshan on Thursday while 22,487 persons came for darshan at the shrine. More devotees are expected to reach here on Saturday and Sunday.
