Girl draws portrait of AR Rahman with lyrics of 391 songs; enters India Book of Records


There are 391 songs in it starting from his first song ‘Chinna Chinna Aasai’ from the movie Roja. The eyes are passionately drawn with the lyrics of his evergreen song ‘Kannalane’ from the movie Bombay. She has drawn it in two hours and 20 minutes in a stretch.

Soorya, her picture of AR Rahman and the record

Malappuram: Soorya has drawn a picture of AR Rahman. That may not be something unusual but if closely watched there is a hidden musical touch in it. The entire picture is composed of the lyrics of AR Rahman’s songs.

There are 391 songs in it starting from his first song ‘Chinna Chinna Aasai’ from the movie Roja. The eyes are passionately drawn with the lyrics of his evergreen song ‘Kannalane’ from the movie 'Bombay'. She has drawn it in two hours and 20 minutes in a stretch.

The picture is 71 metres long and 56 metres wide. She is obsessed with art from a very young age but has not learned drawing yet. She voluntarily participates in competitions and has won many prizes. Later, she quit her passion for higher studies and has completed postgraduation in Botany.

Soorya is married to Satheesh Chandran who is an instructor in a parallel college and has a two-year-old child now. After a long gap, she decided to resume her favourite hobby. She dreams of presenting the portrait to AR Rahman. She has taken the picture and posted it on Instagram tagging him. The picture has entered into the India Book of Records.
