Thiruvananthapuram: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has initiated more actions against those involved in the phone call controversy in Kundara. The party suspended three more persons pending investigation.

Action was initiated against Nationalist Mahila Congress state vice president Honey Victo, party state committee member Pradeep Kumar and Kundara block president Benedict. Padmakaran and Rajeev who are involved in the issue were already suspended.

NCP state president P C Chacko made it clear while addressing the media that the action was initiated on the basis of the probe committee report indicating that they tarnished the image of the party.

PC Chacko further explained that minister A K Saseendran intervened in the issue without knowing that it was a sexual harassment complaint. NCP state leadership has directed minister A K Saseendran to be vigilant during phone conversations.

The complaint filed by the woman was circulated through the social media by Honey Victo. It was Pradeep Kumar who pressurized the minister to contact the woman. Benedict recorded the conversation and circulated through the media.

PC Chacko added that Nationalist Youth Congress Kollam district president Biju also was suspended pending investigation as he publicly criticized the party’s action over the issue.
