Palakkad: ADGP Vijay Sakhare informed that four accused have been arrested over the murder of RSS activist Sreenivasan. He said that their arrests will be recorded soon and that there are 16 accused in the case.

“Police have identified everyone involved in the crime. The accused conspired on the ground behind the mortuary of the district hospital on the night the Popular Front activist Subair was murdered. The target was decided only next morning. Six of them belonging to this gang had gone to murder Sreenivasan,” Vijay Sakhare said.

It is hinted that Palakkad natives Bilal, Riswan, Sahad and Riyas Khan are in the police custody. But the police have not revealed any other information about them as of now.

Police sources revealed that there are more accused in the Sreenivasan murder case. Apart from the six who committed the murder, four others were also present at the crime scene. They had come as a backup in case of any counterattack happens while they attacked Sreenivasan. Police have also found that a few accused returned to the district hospital after committing the murder.

It is learned that the four who are in custody at present were with the six-member gang. The key accused in the case are still in hiding. The police have intensified the search for them centring around the strongholds of the Popular Front.
